Lack of flexibility with cancellation policy. I am writing to express my deep disappointment with my recent experience at Country Inn & Suites in Dubuque, Iowa. I had to cancel my reservation just hours before my scheduled arrival due to an unexpected family emergency involving my “extremely sick grandchildren”, which required my immediate attention. Unfortunately, I was met with zero flexibility regarding your cancellation policy. While I understand the need for policies, I believe that genuine emergencies should warrant some consideration, especially when circumstances are out of the guest’s control. This lack of understanding and empathy from the hotel management has left me feeling not only frustrated but also disheartened about staying at or recommending your hotel in the future. Situations like these are an opportunity to show compassion and build goodwill with customers, but in this case, that opportunity was missed. I kindly ask that you review this matter and consider offering a more accommodating approach for emergencies. I would appreciate a response to this request. Peter F.

Terrible This place was absolutely not worth the money, I actually wish I could get it back. It was extremely slow to check in. I didn’t see any staff the whole time I was there besides 1 person that helped us check in. The room smelled so bad like mildew and the carpet felt wet. The room felt dirty and had dead bugs on the carpet. The windows were also unlocked with our room on the ground level so good thing we checked before we went to sleep. Also the door to the room was not even closed when we got there and the door handle was broken. Also the free breakfast was very bad so do not count on that. I do not recommend staying here ever.

Excellent low cost choice. Some of the negative reviews must be false or talking about a different place. No extreme upticks in cost. Exceptionally clean. Pleasant staff. My room appeared to have pretty much new everything. Pretty comfortable bed. Decent bedding, quiet AC. Much better than some of the much pricier and “luxury” places I have stayed in.

Not up to expectations Pretty average hotel, not the business class hotel of the Carlson Company. I lodged several complaints while there and they were never addressed. I was told via text that management would contact me, never happened. Hotel was full of families staying for baseball tournament. But pool closed at 9:00 pm. Bathroom was dirty. Beds comfy. Lobby quiet and comfy but small. Breakfast so so, some food cold. Not worth price we paid.

Not very good We arrived on Saturday may 11th, we couldn’t find the room, we got in at 11:00pm, my mother in law, paid with points, when we arrived she has a Carly that is esa, they told her if you don’t have proof, that she had to pay 40.00 plus tax, not very friendly, well we got into our room, woke up the next morning with itchy red spots on my feet and legs, flea bites, I’m having surgery on Monday, hope this doesn’t postpone it, I will send pictures. Barbara ritter is my mother in law, thank you Karen ritter
