Mixed bag The activities were great. The accommodations were unimpressive. Part of the problem was that we I booked 3, 1 bedroom units, through RCI and at check-in we were told they only had queen suite hotel units for us. I showed them the paperwork proving what I booked and they claimed there was nothing they could do. If you're planning on staying there, go directly through them so you know what you are getting and they can't say it's RCI fault. 2 of the 3 units had bad A/C units and the rooms never did cool off to what the thermostat was set at. They remained at 75 degrees and higher. I of the 3 units was not ready for the 4 pm check-in time. We had to wait until after 5 to get in that room.

A magical experience for kids, but lacking in comfort for adults Like many others, we had both positive and negative experiences during our stay. The highlight was definitely for our child—he had the time of his life. Even more than the pools, his favorite part was playing MagiQuest, and he was thrilled to earn his Magi certificate before the weekend ended. Thanks to that, I’m sure we’ll be back someday.
However, for the high price point, the hotel was missing some basic amenities I’ve come to expect. Small inconveniences piled up throughout our stay, making it less relaxing than I’d hoped.
The biggest issue was the shower: the water pressure was barely a trickle, and the temperature kept swinging wildly between scalding hot and freezing cold. Honestly, it was the worst shower I’ve ever had in a hotel.
We also had problems with the room’s fold-out couch. My child complained it was uncomfortable, and when I sat on it, I realized why—it felt like sitting directly on a board. It seemed there wasn’t any mattress at all, just the hard underside of the couch.
The mini fridge froze almost everything we put in it by the end of the weekend. And another frustration: the hotel doesn’t provide “Do Not Disturb” signs. Housekeeping started knocking early in the morning, and when we asked them to come back later, they wouldn’t. We had to awkwardly request towels, trash pickup, coffee, and cups while we were still getting dressed.
Overall, I felt less like a hotel guest and more like a camper at a summer camp—well-intentioned staff, but rigid rules, early mornings, little privacy, and worn-out facilities. Next time, we’ll likely stay at an Airbnb or nearby hotel and just get a day pass for the attractions!

Worst hotel ever Unfortunately our room was facing the lobby and is not soundproof. Quiet hours are from 11pm-7am, so if you have children on a schedule forget it. Two evacuations in our one night stay. Way too overpriced and overcrowded. Disgustingly warm pools more so than a heated pool. Not clean. Rooms needed updating.

3 prank emergency alarms over 4 nights! The place would be ok but they completely cannot keep the guests in check! I stayed here for four nights and two of those nights ive spent outside the hotel because of the fake emergency alarms!!! In total three emergency alarms in the course of four days. None of them fire related all because of the misconduct of the guests (pranks and misusing the automatic sprinkler). Ridiculous! Instead of having a nice spring break with the family Ive lost money and sleep and Im more frustrated and tired than before I came here

Good trip to take once in a long while Overall a great experience as long as you know and are realistic of what you’re going to- a Chucky Cheese-esque family resort. None of this information is new, but still- I’ll mention it all in my review.
The good: The staff really are lovely. They seemingly want all the kiddos and guests to have a good time and are helpful where they can be. We felt very safe during the water park areas, the ropes course staff were *great* (Alex was AMAZING with my daughter- he really took the time to make sure her and I felt safe and comfortable, and later on when she went up without me he assured her several times that he was available if need be). Everyone is accommodating and friendly.
We enjoyed the activities outside of the waterpark including the adventure trail and the little rides.
The events in the lobby are cute As they do several activities of Yoga, arts and crafts (making puppets and pins for our days), and story time. The dance party had the potential of being overwhelming for sensory kiddos.
The waterpark is good for what it is. It was clean and we felt very safe with the lifeguards, just now it’s small and with high volume guests it can get squishy in both sides of the water park.
The okay: We had a wolf den, which I would *not* recommend with littles or sensory sensitive kids. The location of ours was right outside rock climbing and the race cars, and when the kid’s were trying to sleep at 8 or 9p, screaming and loud machines kept them up. Noise/machines/activities in the Fun Spot does turn off promptly at 10, and then quiet hours are 11.
The layout of the resort is okay, spread out and awkward at times, but incredibly easy to navigate.
The room itself was okay, a bit dated and definitely with some wear and tear, but clean and cozy. The pull out sofa was good, you just might need to ask for extra blankets and the bunk beds and queen were as expected. There is a fridge and microwave in room along with two TVs- one in the kids corner and the main room. Hack to get Netflix to work when the undoubted reset of the TVs doesn’t work. Go to the YouTube app, let it time out, go to connection and then select the Great Wolf Lodge guest WiFi. We had no other issues getting to Netflix after that.
The Food was overall okay, Buckets is water park food, and as such isn’t amazing or anything- but edible. For us the Splash and Fun package was worth it for a family of five as the food is expensive and with that package we get a cooler and pretty decent/ pretty towels to keep along with a lunch for everyone there. We all did burgers and chicken.
We do really like the pizza spot there- The farmer’s pizza was great. I wasn’t a fan of the cheese, but the kids were happy with it.
The buffet is decent, there’s plenty to select from. Just know if you get the family breakfast deal, just know that it says gratuity is included but it’s only a small percentage.
We did not go to the bar or tavern because frankly- I was too terrified of what the prices would be.
The Bad:
This place will absolutely nickel and dime you on everything possible. There’s a $15 dollar a night parking fee for what I don’t know, in which didn’t seem to be enforced, so take that what you will. Some people get dropped off to avoid this.
The arcade prices are *insane*. Kids will get $25 dollars and blow it within minutes on 3-4 machines as a lot of them are 8-11 credits per play. The resort fees are high and all the packages we got had taxes on them, an additional $200 dollars was placed on hold on our card at check in for incidentals . None of this would be a problem if things were more up front- but unless seeing in reviews or I’m sure fine print- none of this is transparent really.
The passes are worth it in that you get additional discounts on things which helps, particularly if you end up upgrading. (I.e. the $5 arcade card is literally 1 maybe 2 plays of a game). It helped us out for various attractions including Build a Bear and rock mining.
We did Magiquest- it’s a bit old and janky. Come to find out it’s because it doesn’t get updated- and you can tell. It’s fun for the kiddos but definitely on the expensive side, and the attractions for it are in high volume areas- which is frustrating for those wanting to just play who get interrupted by walkers, and is frustrating for the walkers who just want to get to where they’re going without having a wand hitting them and having to stop every five seconds.
Overall, if going in with the mindset that you are going to spend, even if getting the passes, and with a calm laid back attitude- this place is great. We took lots of room breaks and took our time with things. Picking up extra shifts for this was worth it for us, but definitely not a common/often revisit due to the price point.
