New meaning to Fleabag Hotel i knew i wasn’t paying for a top shelf hotel but what the heck? dingy towels and a flea infestation. that’s a first. buyer beware as they say! there was also some questionable crap going on in the parking lot for hours. oye! i would not recommend this place to anyone.

Not very hospitable The motel is clean. It’s been modernized with laminate wood floors & new fixtures in the bathroom. The shower pressure is low but there’s a large shower head, in a rainwater style. The shower itself is a molded plastic shower enclosure. You only get a small tube of 2 in 1 shampoo condition, 1 bar of body soap & 1 bar of face soap. You do not get lotion or the small packs of tissues. There is a box in the bathroom. A breakfast is available. There are two kinds of cereal that both look like bran flakes, white bread & grocery store “bagels”, tiny cinnamon rolls, what look like egg rounds (think frozen heat & eat prefab scrambled egg discs), round thin sausage patties & make your own Belgian waffles plus coffee, OJ or apple juice. All in all not very tasty or warm. The public restrooms on the 1st floor weren’t working. The whole building is set back from the road. You are close to Route 80 & can hear the traffic all night. The black out curtains work well. You get a microwave & a tiny ‘fridge. There are vending machines in the lobby but the only ice machine is on the 1st floor. There is one elevator but 2 sets of stairs. Management was grumpy. No matter what I asked the guy at the desk, it was an imposition, even when I wanted a 2nd key. He had been brusque on the phone both times when I called. Maybe the poor guy is overworked because he seemed to be there 24 / 7 but he didn’t seem well suited to the hospitality business. We didn’t use it but there is a shuttle for $20 to Notre Dame campus for the game. There is a Ruth Cris steakhouse in a strip mall across the street & a Target next door. The area felt very isolated at night. We were there for a football game. I can’t imagine how creepy & desolate the place must be on non football weekends. If you are going to the game it’s a cheap alternative to the $700 /night places that are walking distance from campus but there are few other redeeming features of this place. Unlike every other Red Roof Inn where we have stayed booked through my credit card’s travel site, this one refused to give me my Redi-points because we didn’t book directly through the hotel.

Low Rating Because of Theft I have to give this hotel the lowest rating because of the theft of my glasses. After they were stolen, my sister reminded me to put my valuables away. Thanks, Sis. We had reserved a three night stay, but the hotel manager said we only requested a two night stay. We had to pay a higher rate for the third night. Strike one. The telephone didn’t work. I went to the front desk to get a new handset cord the first night. It still didn’t work. Strike two. My spare pair of glasses were stolen off the desk during our first day out. I honestly did not think of my glasses as valuable, although it will cost over $500 to replace them. I glanced over my shoulder as I was leaving to remind myself of where I placed them. I guess I was saying goodbye to them. I asked the front desk to ask the cleaning staff if perhaps, they placed the sheets on the desk, and inadvertently picked up my glasses. No glasses found. Strike three. I wish we could say we left, but we had come to town because of a death in the family, and we had a lot to contend with, so the hotel was the last priority on our list. Our stay was extended for four more nights. Nothing on our To Do list went right. We turned up the AC to drown out the highway traffic. No complimentary coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. The stairs were swishy and squeaky, we laughed. The room was clean. The beds were not queen size as we requested on our reservation. The beds were uncomfortable, I found a good spot on the edge of the mattress. Our ice bucket handle was broken off on one side. On our way home, we stayed at a Hampton Inn. The best nights’ sleep in a week. Don’t stay here, shop around. Our local Red Roof Inn in Florida is a good one.

A nice place to stay with your pet. Clean and comfortable bed. Owner.ran and very helpful Was centrally located to Notre Dame and restaurants nearby. Red Roofs are now the choice of pet owners as most LaQuintas now charge for pets. This was one of the better ones. Lot's of parking and neighborhood seemed safe.

Clean-Nice-Safe-Reasonable Would have given a 5 if breakfast had been better...coffee/pastry wasn't really enough for such a nice facility...if breakfast would have been better, I would have given it a 5+ This is a very nice facility that is "up-to-date" and very reasonably priced. The beds were comfortable and the WiFi and TV service was excellent. Bathroom was very clean/nice looking and furniture, microwave, frig. etc. were in really good/well kept condition I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and relatives. One Other Thing...front desk staff was very friendly, sincere and professional at all times...a real plus!
