Holiday Inn Express Grover Beach by IHG

Comfortable Budget Friendly stay! We wanted a beach trip and all the oceanfront hotels were either booked or priced way too expensive. Great choice! Very good stay at a reasonable price. Renovation, clean rooms with comfortable beds and excellent AC. Great choice for a last minute booking and not breaking the budget.

Give this hotel a go. Straight up hotel. ADA room good. Front office great. All good, do it. Parking is good, room super. Do not have anything else to say, but I am supposed to write 200,words. However the scenery is nice, the cars in the parking lot are nice. Almost done.

Strike three… You’re out… of chances After IHG sold the HIE in San Luis Obispo several years ago, the Grover Beach location was the closest option. (My company has an agreement for us to stay at IHG properties.) The prior visit was a 7 out of 10, so I thought I would give it another shot. It easily dropped to a 2 out of 10, and I will no longer stay at this property. I will drive from Santa Maria, Atascadero, or even Paso Robles, before staying here again. 1) The parking lot is still in horrible condition and has needed repaving for several years. It is basically a gravel parking lot now. 2) There was extremely limited parking availability due to numerous commercial vehicles with trailers occupying three to four spaces. You can't fault the other guests, but auxiliary parking should be provided for such commercial vehicles. 3) My broken desk chair no longer goes up and down, making it very uncomfortable to work at the desk. 4) The front desk carries no cash to make change for housekeeping tips. 5) The front desk staff, with the exception of check-in, was consistently lukewarm, at best, in terms of hospitality. I felt like an intrusion whenever I posed a question. 6) The room was immaculate, adequately stocked with toilet paper, liquid soap, etc. 7) The property is in walking distance of many food and beverage options.

Comfortable Visited in May 2024. Hotel is not typical in that the lobby is separate from the rooms. There were about 10 steps from the parking lot to get to the elevator so bear that in mind for luggage etc. Room was comfortable- had a small balcony. Location was pretty good.

Nice Hotel and location The hotel is under reno. but the rooms are clean and good size, really close to Pismo beach, it is just off the HWY but no noise what so ever, the big minus is the Breakfast area and food quality, which needs to be improved, and in such case will be back for sure, otherwise, we will look around.
