Fine if you don’t have alternatives We chose this hotel because of its proximity to St Andrews for an event, but thanks to the US Open paid an exorbitant rate. So that does color my review, but I feel like for $275 a night I should be told in advance that breakfast would be served in a bag and that the pool wasn’t working. I’d definitely have chosen a competitor at a similar price point for better amenities. On the pro side, the staff was incredibly friendly and warm. I do not blame them for any of my frustrations as I think they are just doing the best they can with what they’ve been given, and they did seem to be working very hard. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. So the basics of what they could control were in place. On the cons list, breakfast itself is basically what school lunch breakfast might look like- a dole fruit cup with a sealed lid, a granola bar maybe (some bags had them, some didn’t), a mini yogurt, and the same Jimmy Dean sausage breakfast biscuit that you microwave in your room- every single day. This is what my daughter was given a few months back at this hotel too. It never changes. The sign says it’s a Covid thing but I suspect they saved so much money doing it that they decided to not go back. After my kids saw what breakfast was we all agreed to just go to starbucks instead, which was a bummer as the breakfast was one of the factors I’d considered in staying there versus another hotel. As of mid June, the pool was “not open yet.” At some point room service entered our room and all they did was take our towels. While I do not need or expect anyone to clean my room during a stay, that just seemed odd to me. We ended up asking the front desk for new towels, and they were super apologetic noting that towels were all in the dryer and brought some up, when they were done. It seems to me like this hotel is understaffed and I bet that’s the source of their issues. It was safe and well located which was important. But the little things were missing.

Worse service every Worse hotel ever. Management is very bad. I stayed 4 nights. They keep changing me from room to room every morning. Never keep me in the same room. I was good when I left and was told that I could come back. When I get ready to book for another stay there. They put me on the do not rent list and will not remove it. The police department even checked out. And they cleared it. But the hotel won't remove it. No matter what. So if I was you. I would never go there. Even one of the rooms they put me in was not cleaned at all. So I had to clean it to be able to stay. If I was you I wouldn't stay there. Unless you want to be up on the do not rent list for no reason at all. And they won't remove it.

Worst hotel ever One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The breakfast area was “under construction” so no free breakfast or coffee as advertised. The pool was full of green algae and unusable. It was July in North Carolina. Temps were in the 90’s. The air conditioner in the workout room was inoperative. No towels or water either. Everything was worn out and thread bare throughout the hotel.

Do not stay here Our family was traveling to N Myrtle beach and decided to stay the night to break up the trip. We booked online and reserved and paid for a rollaway bed due to having 2 adults and two teenagers. We arrived at the hotel to check in and were informed that breakfast would be a “to-go” bag and no coffee available except for the tiny coffee maker in the room. We were also informed that the bed we paid for was not available. As such we needed to leave and find another hotel as the beds are small for 2 adults. We never slept there. We attempted to obtain a refund however the GM would never answer the calls or return our calls. We called the customer service line and was informed that the owner would be notified. We were also told that the hotel reported that we “no showed”.

Beware! Will not refund....and they messed up! We were going to a NASCAR race at Darlington and planned to take our two kids to a hotel about 40 minutes away from the race for the afternoon and night before. We get to the hotel late afternoon and everything appears ok. I booked the stay through Priceline Express Deals, with guaranteed amenities of pool and breakfast. I walk inside to check in. There are signs at the front desk that the breakfast is limited due to COVID. No problem, I am ok with that. I get our keys and we move the car around close to the entrance near our room. It so happened to be right beside the pool. We promised the kids that, weather permitting, we would swim. Our daughter loves to swim. We go to our room. Not the cleanest or most up to date place, but we proceed on. We get to our room and change clothes to go swimming. We go to the pool which appears fine and try to open the gate. It is locked. No problem.... We go to the front desk and talk to Sierra. Is there a key we need to go swimming? Oh no, we are waiting on the inspector. Will that be today? Oh we don't know when he is coming. So, the pool isn't open? Nope. I explained that the reason we went to the hotel and chose that one was based on the amenities and they were guaranteed. She didn't seem to care at all. She said you take that up with Priceline since you booked through them. I spent 47 minutes on the phone explaining. Oh yes, we understand. Let us call the hotel. Yes, they confirmed that the pool isn't open but the manager is not there so they can't provide an exception to refund the room. We checked out immediately, found another hotel further away from the race, with a pool. I have been trying for a month almost to get a refund. Today I was told they denied the refund. I specifically guaranteed a pool. I called the hotel directly to verify it was open. And they still won't give me back my 95 bucks. Never again, Priceline. Never again, Comfort Inn.
