Get it while you can This hotel is a throwback to older times - BUT it’s refurbished and is now a hidden gem. The service was more than we could have asked for. Our room was in the first floor of this 2-floor walk-up — and it was clean and well furnished. The redo of this property is a stand-out so don’t miss it!

Stay Away! Where do I start? The moment we pulled in, we could see that the angle of the photo on Trip Advisor helped to minimize what the facility really looks like. It is an outdated building where rooms are accessible from the outside. After checking in, we went to the room. We are on the 2nd floor and no elevator. There is structural damage to the divider between the first and second floor. The room has a 1970s vibe. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired - or maybe it's just the outdated look that makes you go ewwwww! The door has a 1970s style locking mechanism which makes you feel a bit less than secure, especially since all the doors are on the outside. I returned to the front desk to tell the lady that we were not going to accept the room. My impression was that she was not happy and I quickly told her that I was not faulting her. She is just working the desk and it's not her fault that the facility looks the way it does. She said my credit card would not be charged and gave me my cancellation number. Behind the BW is a Holiday Inn (where we are staying) and across the street is a Country Inn and Suites. All three places get a 4 out of 5 rating on Trip Advisor. I'm not sure how that is even possible. After reading reviews for the BW - something I failed to do before booking a room - I would have seen some of the same things I discovered for myself.

Stay Away! As soon as I pulled on to the property, I'm thinking I had made a huge mistake! This is an old BW and all rooms are accessible from the outside. There is a sign saying that they are renovating, however, I didn't see anything that looked like renovation in progress. Going around to our room on the second floor (no elevator), you see structural damage on the 2nd floor. The rooms are outdated and not kept as clean as you would like. The door locks are outdated, reminding you of a style from the late 70s. The room doesn't exude safety or cleanliness. I went back to the desk and said, "We are not staying here." The desk lady was nice and I explained that the room wasn't as clean as it should be. I was told that my card would not be charged. We booked this room based off of reviews on Trip Advisor. Not sure how this hotel got the rating it got but it doesn't deserve it. Tax and room cost would have been just over $100.00. You get what you pay for.

Awful, rude I had the worst experience with the front desk staff at the Best Western in Lexington, VA today. My fiance and I live hours apart and work two different shifts. So, we take advantage of the days where we can be together and try to meet halfway. I booked a room at this location and listed him as the additional guest so that he could check in and be there while I was traveling to meet him. He attempted to check in today, and was refused due to him being a local. I called the hotel, spoke with the staff (who refused numerous times to give me her name) and inquired about why he was refused service. She then told me that the hotel policy is that no one who lives within a 50 mile radius could not stay at the hotel. I informed her that his address is over 90 miles from the hotel and she still refused. I asked what the difference would be if I checked in and he was a guest. I was told that he would not be allowed to be a guest due to his address. After trying to explain that he does not meet the "within 50 miles" policy, she got loud and began to yell at me. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she told me to call back on Monday. I asked to be transferred to a manager and was refused. I asked what she would do in case of an emergency and she told me that she would call her manager. I was then told that us not having a place to stay is not an emergency. The front desk staff again refused to give me her name, continued to get loud and yell, and hung up on me. After calling customer care, I was given a refund..which would shown up in my account in 10+ days. So, he drove back the hour and a half to his home as we both tried to come up with another plan. I was told "I understand" and "I am sorry" numerous times, but we were still refused service. There is no mention on the hotel's website that they do not allow people who live within a 50 mile radius..or who live in select cities, would not be allowed to stay at this Best Western. The discrimination displayed today is astonishing. Stay away from this place!

Disappointing The Motel is outdated. The room interior had been updated but not a 3 star by any means. The breakfast was all prepackaged food, weak coffee, and overall just a disappointment. The tv was not a smart tv, the coffee at breakfast was weak and bad tasting, the doorkey would keep deactivating. Just an overrated 3 star! Not a true rating!
