Candlewood Suites New Iberia, an IHG Hotel

Avoid The hotel staff are doing their best The hotel is a shambles and is at the time of the stay should not have been in use. Hotel smelt mouldy, had to change room, and then the last room had no hot water. Hotel Manager won’t even call back so I guess they know it’s bad and too embarrassed to even try to apologise. I find this totally unacceptable.

Just Avoid This Place I just want to share my evening and warn people from staying in this hotel. So we are staying at the Candlewood Suites in new Iberia and we check in to find that the elevator is down. It has been down for weeks according to the front desk. My dear friend that I’m driving is 83, in a wheelchair and has a busted knee (with a brace) from a recent fall. The front desk associate says there is nothing on the first floor and gives the most insincere “sorry” and points to the closest set of stairs. My friend asked if there is a discount for the massive inconvenience because she booked the handicapped room 2 days ago and nothing was mentioned about the elevator. She said no. My friend asked if there was someone on staff that can at least assist with bags and the wheelchair and she said no. The whole city is booked out for a festival. So we spent 40 mins climbing one flight of stairs. Not only that but there are water leaks everywhere - judging by the waiter damage on the carpet, it’s not a new issue. This property is clearly putting profit over their guests. (No surprise) but I bet that’s why nothing was mentioned when the reservation was made - they didn’t want to lose money on a sell out weekend. It’s unacceptable. Should an emergency arise and we have to leave quickly - well… it’s not gonna happen. Take my warning and avoid this place. Especially for $191.00/night. IHG Corporate

Meh I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and it wasn't too bad. 6 years later, I am sorely disappointed. After our air bnb fell through, we needed a place to stay in a pinch. Unfortunately this place was less than ideal. The door on first room they gave us would not latch, so anyone could walk into it at anytime. The second room has roaches in the kitchenette and rodent droppings in the bathroom. The shower had no pressure unless it was set to hellfire hot. The TV in our room was broken. I reserved a handicapped accessible room for my parents. Im not sure how it is considered ADA compliant as there was no roll in/walk in shower. Lucky my mother didn't fall stepping in/out of the shower.

Mr Nice place. Staff very helpful and courteous. Would definitely recommend staying here. Clean comfortable rooms, nice sitting area outside with grills for cooking supper. I will stay here again if in the area.

Nice stay We were in New Iberia and stayed at the Candlewood for a couple of days. The location was convenient to all restaurants and attractions. The hotel was clean but our room was showing it’s age. Still it was mostly quiet and we had a nice stay.
