Terrible until our last hour Horribly maintained hotel that lacks every single aspect of their mission statement. Let’s begin when you walk into the hotel where you will be greeted—- just kidding— no one will say hello to you. The desk clerk (Durban, the only person at front desk with six guests waiting) barely looked up. We eventually got our key and proceeded to our room then went to dinner. The service in the restaurant was slooooow and the food was pretty bad. I have zero advice on what you should order. A bottled beer or soda would be safe. After dinner we went to our room—which was clean. The shower was also nice and the AC worked well. Then we discovered the toilet doesn't work (doesn't refill). Called the front desk and asked to change rooms and the person (Durban) said “hold on while I get someone” then hung up. The baggage clerk/maintenance person came up and said we just need to push the flush buttons multiple times and it maybe it fills up. Went to the front desk and ask Durban for another room. He said nothing was wrong with our room. I disagreed and looked at my phone to see the time and said “it’s 10:00, we just want to get to sleep. Can we have a room with a functioning toilet?” He then accused me of recording him and yelled that recording was illegal. I showed him my phone and said “I am not recording you.” Asked him his name but he refused to give it to me saying that was personal (got his name by another member of the hotel staff). Did I mention his name is Durban? He then snapped out of whatever angry anti-hospitality funk he was in and offered an apology then gave us another room on the floor above. Climb the stairs and open the door. But wait— there’s more. We get to the other room and the lights don’t work. Radio chatter between maintenance/baggage clerk and Durban. We’re told to carry everything downstairs. Get to the third room. The toilet just runs and runs. But, no one seems to care. We close the bathroom door and crank the AC so we don’t hear water running in the toilet all night. Next morning is where things got better. The new front desk clerk, Christian, was an absolute delight. Asked about our stay, reminded us about breakfast and even gave us a head’s up about the airport shuttle which was filling up fast and would only be able to accommodate two of the four people in our party at the allotted time but assured us the driver would circle back for us. We had an early international flight. Clearly, he saw our concern about missing flights. Next thing we know, the shuttle driver said he could bring our party to the airport earlier. I wish I got the drivers name as he was so nice and we so appreciate him. Bottom line: this place is in dire need of maintenance, the food is not very good. Christian and the driver care about hospitality and should be treasured. Will do all I can to avoid this hotel in the future.

Shiny on the outside… This place looks nice when you walk in but it’s just meh. The room: air conditioning didn’t really work, bright lights everywhere in the room from the clock to the phone, to the AC. My business partners’ bed sheet was so pilled it was like sand paper. I spent a pretty uncomfortable night when all I wanted was a good, sweat free, night of sleep before traveling home. The pool area seemed OK but y’all, there were people doing things you don’t do in a public hot tub! I kid you not, and a family sitting ten feet away. They were draining that tub in the AM, needless to say I stayed far away. Gym was creepy and dirty. The food at night was terrible, inedible. Service was nice enough but slow. Breakfast was also meh, but the coffee was strong! Airport shuttle was great and easy. Overall a bearable experience but I’d have preferred something a bit more comfortable room wise, skip the statues and fountains, in the lobby next time and upgrade those rooms!

Nice overnight stay for birders Great place for birders to stop. They have a great courtyard with a nice pool and loungers for relaxing. Better yet is it is full of trees and bushes with many species of tropical birds living in them. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Service is good at check in and the restaurant. Food is okay. We would stay again.

Great place & friendly staff Was a little worried since I had read reviews & recent ones have not been favorable as in past ones but, we were pleasantly surprised! Loved the lush grounds & pool area & the little touches like hammocks to longe in & big chess set to play. Our room was also very nice, especially for the price. We used the swim up bar, regular bar, restaurant & even with the language barrier everyone was so friendly & helpful. Yetzelain at the front desk was wonderful & personally helped us Friday with a hiccup on our transfer to cruise terminal in Colon & made sure on Saturday we were picked up from hotel on time. Would highly recommend

What a disappointment!!!!! We stayed at this hotel some years ago and enjoyed it enough to come back . (Covid interuppted our travels). What a disappointment. We reserved two nights leaving and arriving in Panama. One night only each way. Our first night did not meet expectations, the room was under furnished, the dinner was mediocore, the staff seemed totally uninterested in making anyone feel welcome, the free breakfast did not start until after we left for the airport (is this deliberate?). The shuttle was appreciated (once an hour, on the hour is inadequate). Before our return we would have cancelled our 2nd night but the room was already prepaid, no refund. Upon return same poorly furnished room, rotten drinks at the bar (saving on the cost of alcohol by not putting any in the drink itself), Worst buffet breakfast we have had in years, cold eggs, cold chorizo. The casino is no longer at this hotel but it is advertised as such. The front desk needs to learn how to greet people to make them feel welcome, the wait staff seem tired of working there. Both stays were chalked up as an experience NOT to be repeated. I will let my friends know to stay away from this property.
