Great Hotel in the center of everything. Very convenient. The rooms above the ballroom are fantastic! This is our 2nd stay at Paso Robles Inn. We went for the 1st time a few months ago. Both times we stayed in the 1889 House. The rooms are like being in a chic boutique hotel. Huge bathroom. And the soaking tub! And a fireplace. The only thing missing is a microwave (I always have leftovers). There are fire pits on the property and free wine tasting at the hotel next door. There are plenty of tasting rooms and restaurants and boutique stores within walking distance. We didn’t have a car and it was perfect for us. But You’ll need one if you want to go out to the wineries (or Lyft). The staff is super responsive to requests (more water, more coffee, etc) A few things to note. The rooms in the 1889 house are above the ballroom. During our 1st visit there was a wedding reception below our room. It was so loud we could hear the lyrics to the songs and we could feel the base through the floor. We couldn’t even hear out TV. We asked earlier in the day if there was a wedding happening and the front desk said no, just a business convention. So if you see them setting up in the ballroom plan on a loud night or go have a late dinner/drinks somewhere. They did give us a discount on our stay when we complained. Our room on the 1st visit (1205) was phenomenal. But on this last visit we were disappointed as the room (1201) was considerably smaller. The prior room had an extra sitting area with a coffee table. I’m all for each room being unique , but if there’s a substantial size difference there should be a price difference (disclaimer I did get a sale price but it wasn’t mentioned it was for smaller room). Also this room was right by the elevator and the stairs. So there was some occasional noise from those as what sounded like someone rolling a cart outside pretty regularly., most likely housekeeping. Overall it’s a great hotel. I would have given 5 stars if our room had been a similar size to our first visit. But the smaller room just doesn’t provide as much bang for your buck.

Stay in the old hall building This inn has been expertly renovated and brought up to modern standards. We stayed in the old hall building, the only structure left from the over 100 years ago. The room was very modern and comfortable even though the building itself is historically preserved.

Great location. Clean. Nice grounds. Tiny Pool. Not a great value. Went with my wife for a Mother's Day getaway. Paso Robles is amazing. And this hotel is likely in the best location and has the best amenities you can expect right there. So there is that. However, for the money, I found it a bit lacking. Grounds and all the buildings looked newly renewed. So that was nice. There was a $39 "resort" fee which, I guess, was justified as they gave you a couple of cookies, a daily pass to a gym a mile away, one hour of ebike ride, and a "wine tasting hour" at the sister property "Picolo". We went and it was basically three bartenders on an empty roof bar who would give you a couple of tastes - numerous items on their menu, like the cheese plate, were not available. The pool is a good distance from the room we were in, and when we got there to take a night dip in the spa or tiny pool (9pm) there were no pool towels in the basket, but pool towels and wine bottles were strewn about from the days activities earlier. So, no towels, we went back to our room. On top of this, they were resurfacing the asphalt which was noisy and dust was everywhere. The coffee in the room was horribly stale. Room was nice and clean and had a nice TV and fireplace. Very nice bathroom but the shower pressure was a bit weak. As i said, for the price, I expected a bit more. My room was $279 but with taxes and the "resort" fee it was over $350/nt. I feel it was about a $200 value.

They took our money—then took our room! We made reservations at the Paso Robles Inn over three months in advance to attend a destination wedding. The booking was made through the Chase Credit Card travel portal, which is serviced by Expedia. We prepaid over $900 for a two-night stay. Less than 48 hours before our arrival, we received a call stating that the hotel had accidentally overbooked and was canceling our reservation. The hotel offered no assistance or compensation, merely suggesting that we could stay at their “sister property” down the street—at about twice the price we had already paid. It’s important to note that the hotel canceled our prepaid reservation after the cancellation deadline had passed. Had we canceled ourselves, we would have forfeited a minimum of one night's stay, and possibly the whole amount we paid (at the hotel's discretion). Yet the hotel felt free to cancel without penalty. They passed the issue to Expedia, who in turn shifted responsibility to Chase. The service we received from both the Paso Robles Inn and Expedia was unacceptable. If there were rooms available at a related property, the hotel should have honored our reservation by providing an upgrade—not by canceling at the last minute. Clearly, at this hotel, a prepaid reservation does not guarantee you’ll actually have a room. We were also disappointed that Expedia, despite its size and resources, did nothing to advocate for us or offer any form of compensation. Ultimately, we received a refund and had to scramble to book a new hotel on our own. From my understanding, canceling a prepaid room without offering a comparable alternative may constitute a breach of contract under California law, and potentially qualifies as an unfair or deceptive business practice. The hotel had access to a room at a sister property but refused to honor the original price. They made no effort to make things right—and didn’t even apologize. The one bright spot was Chase Travel Services. They were courteous and professional throughout, though ultimately limited in their ability to resolve the situation.
