Location and Beautiful Rooms First, you are greeted by nice smiling staff and both times I've been there, Fast Eddie. Eddie is funny, kind, and matches your energy well. His customer service is excellent. He doesn't just take your luggage, but instead makes sure everything is handled with care, then he talks to you about the great features of the hotel, and once in the room, Eddie gives a quick tour of all the important info. The hotel staff is very accommodating and the restaurant is excellent. I love the suites. When there is a band playing, you can hear it in the rooms, but I like the music and don't mind. It doesn't go on late and only seems to be a weekend thing. Everything you need is there and the location could not be better. Its on the riverwalk. The area is quieter yet very close to were everything is going on. I love going to concerts at the alamodone as it is a short walk to and from the hotel. I will definitely make a 3rd visit there and likely more.

Horrible customer service When I showed up for my stay, I was informed that they had overbooked. I was there for a conference. They moved me to a hotel that was half the price and was dirty, after being promised that it was of the same caliber. Then, while attending the conference there, my purse was stolen. The management team was not helpful or empathetic at all. Ashley, at the front desk, was the only one who was kind and tried to put any effort into helping me locate it. But we never located it. So don’t stay here or trust this hotel. I felt like I was imposing every time I went to the desk. I lost my purse, cash, id and credit cards which was probably stolen from the staff.

Absolutely a must do again Outstanding great room very spacious hotel very nice and clean wonderful atmosphere right on the river walk. Staff very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back and take in more sites. The restaurants and shops. The Italian restaurant we ate at was amazing as well.

Great Dear Hotel Contessa Management, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional experience my wife and I had during our recent stay at your hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by your valet staff, who welcomed us with a smile and set the tone for a wonderful visit. A special thank you to Abbas at the front desk, who was incredibly courteous and took the time to thoroughly explain all the hotel amenities to us. When he inquired about the occasion for our visit, I mentioned that we were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary. To our surprise and delight, we received a bottle of champagne in our room with two glasses—a truly thoughtful gesture that made our stay even more special. Please extend our gratitude to Mr. Abbas for his outstanding hospitality. We absolutely fell in love with the hotel—the breathtaking view, the immaculate and beautifully designed room, and the distinctive aroma of ash & oak that filled the air wherever we walked. We were so captivated by the scent that we purchased scented candles from the spa, thanks to Abbas’ helpful recommendation. San Antonio has always been a favorite destination for us, and I frequently visit for business. However, after this incredible experience, we have found our go-to getaway at Hotel Contessa. We are already looking forward to our next stay. Lastly, the mariachi performance on Friday was a delightful touch that added to the charm of the hotel atmosphere. Every detail of our visit made this anniversary truly memorable, and we appreciate the dedication of your staff in creating such a welcoming and elegant experience. Thank you again for everything. Fun times I’m definitely going back and spending a few more days in the hotel. I was very satisfied with the location of the hotel on the river walk, we were just minutes away from a lot of food and fun. Plus there was live music along the river walk and at the hotel at night.
