Great location, Great Hotel, Great customer service I stayed here for 2 nights 7/24 & 7/25. Really nice property overall. There was plenty of parking for my rental car. The lobby and entry into the hotel was really nice and clean. We met the GM Josh Lujan and was very friendly and welcoming. All the staff was nice as well. Check in was an easy process and they even accommodated me to stay on the same floor as my other family that was staying there. I stayed in a King room and it was really nice and clean and good sized. The bed was very comfortable, wish I had that mattress at home! I also used the pool and hot tub and the entire area was well maintained and enjoyable to use. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the San Diego area.

Lots of paint but not great This hotel although it looks nice from the outside of use a lot of paint to cover up a lot I am not a big fan of this hotel the lobby and hallways are musky and the rooms although they were updated recently or not 100%. The staff is friendly and helpful but the hotel grounds is not very welcoming Don’t stay on. The 2’nd floor facing the streets. The AC units are outdated in the rooms (Nice heated pool and very large fitness center). Not very nice meeting spaces.

Thank you to George and Haveen I want to personally thank George Laitis the Manager and Haveen in Customer Service. I apologize if I have spelled your names wrong. I made a huge, honest mistake that would have cost my family a lot of money. I called Courtyard and explained my situation to Haveen and he was so kind and caring. He gave me peace that everything was going to be ok, but I needed to contact the manager, George Laitis. I was able to call back the next day and speak with George. He was just as kind and caring and helped me fix the mistake I made. He could have been rude, laughed and said, "sorry, you made the mistake, I can't help you". Instead, he took the time to fixed my mistake and I could not be more thankful. I have not stayed at the property, but I can tell you they have outstanding customer service. It was not about making money for the hotel it was about caring about the customers. When we do eventually visit San Diego, this is the hotel we will stay at. Thank you, George, and Haveen

Nice Hotel with Good Location, but need to work on Housekeeping Services. The hotel is very centrally located so a variety of destinations are within 10-15 minutes or less. The hotel has recently been remodeled and the rooms and facilities are very modern and comfortable. The rate during our stay was reasonable compared to other comparable hotels. They did accommodate our requests for two rooms close to the elevator and next to each other. The front desk staff were generally very nice and friendly and gave us a late check out. The problems we had with the hotel were related to housekeeping. There is no daily housekeeping, which I think is related to the pandemic. We stayed for four nights and were told that if we stayed for six then they would perform housekeeping tasks. Okay, fine, I didn’t expect them to clean the rooms or change the sheets on a daily basis. However, since we were staying four days and working from the room some of this time we did want some minor services, like emptying the trash, additional coffee, change of towels, etc. We had to request they empty the trash three times, and it was only when I actually saw the housekeeping staff and asked and left the cans outside the door, did this occur. They did come in and leave towels and new sheets for our rooms, (didn’t hang the new towels or remove the old towels, but just left new towels and sheets on the bed). Also, one of our rooms didn’t have a coffee maker, so we requested one, only to have it delivered without a basket to hold the coffee, so it was unusable. I then had to request a new coffee maker twice more before a new one was delivered. Also had some issues with the café or Starbucks services that the hotel says they provide. This is limited and there were glitches in services.

Bad I am usually a pretty tolerant person for errors/issues with employees/companies/etc., since I try to understand no one is perfect even if we strive for perfection. We stay at Marriott hotels often, and usually have excellent experiences. Our experience in this hotel was downright BAD. Construction - there was on-going construction on the hotel without notification during my booking. No checking in at the front desk, had to come in around the back to a makeshift front desk. Front lobby, store, restaurant and bar all closed and inaccessible. This hotel was highly occupied by construction workers, who would talk to us, and my children on the way to our room, informing us they were "living in the hotel." No security at all - never once saw security personnel during our entire stay. The "gates" at the entrance just opened right up for anyone who drove in. There was a non employee sitting at the back door, where you go for checkin, and your primary entrance for the hotel, who was just opening the door for anyone who came to the door. Elevators had room key locks to get to the floors that were deactivated. Room was dirty- dust everywhere, gum on the floor, sticky floor, mirrors were dirty, stuff/stains on the walls. This in a newly renovated room! Newly renovated room - our shower leaked. There was caulking all over the shower and on walls in big globs. The grout on the flooring was missing along the shower. The shower is TINY, with very little room to move around without hitting your elbows on the glass or shampoo dispenser. The toilet seat was broken. The fridge never got cold. The bed was NOT new despite a newly renovated room, as each night, we sunk into the middle. Seemed like they just put a new mattress topper on it. Room not prepared for our arrival - No ice bucket, no hangers, not enough sheets/no blanket for the sofa bed. We had to call for everything. No ice machine for the customer - we had to call the front desk, and it took 30-45 minutes for someone to arrive with ice in a ripped plastic bag. Military operation - we had some Marines (?) doing something in the room across from us, seemed like maybe interviews, but they started their day at 5:30 am every day, and woke us up since they were loud (read:obnoxious). Checkout - I had booked a AAA deal, which included a discounted room rate, WIFI and parking. I was told on checkin by Alex at the front desk that this deal didn't exist. She told me the room already came with WIFI, and that I needed to pay full price for parking. I showed her the deal, and my confirmation email. She said "she wasn't sure why it said that" and said the best she could do was give me a discount on parking and 4 free water bottles.... When I received my receipt on checkout day, I was charged full price for the room, and $15 per day for parking (normally $27!). I went to the front desk, and I spoke with a young, nice man, who said he knew of the AAA deal, and would remove the parking charges and fix the room price for me.
