Nice ambiance but management seems lacking Doesn’t seem like things are being well managed around here. Despite multiple things listed in their itinerary of events for the memorial weekend, there’s no face painting, no patron tastings, the wrong movie being played (and totally inappropriate substitution for the multiple kids waiting for Turning Red). Also, they don’t apparently like to wash their towels before commissioning them for use. Found inspection stickers still attached on all the bath and pool towels and they just left white lint EVERYWHERE and in our hair and skin and clothes. I’m pretty sure there are chemicals still on the towels from production that I’m wiping all over our bodies.

Not worth the price. For the price point, I expected things to be a little more organized. The schedule they put out for events seemed to be more of a "we might do these things, who knows" attitude. Several of the events were either late or they "accidentally got the days wrong". The shuttle seemed almost non existent which was annoying considering our room was a solid 1/4 -1/2 mile from the lobby/restaurant. We also got a "room with Forest view" which apparently means a room where you can watch tennis and pickleball out of your window. Overall, I was significantly disappointed considering the price it cost to stay two nights.

Heavenly spa experience My husband and I visited Chaminade Spa to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary and had a super relaxing time. We enjoyed all the amenities, especially the zen spa, steam room and pink salt sauna. Mikayla transported me to another world with her amazing facial technique. I also got a massage with Doug and he was incredible at relieving tension in my neck. The grounds are beautiful and all staff members were kind and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Spa Services and Massage My husband and I went up for the day to use our Massage certificates. My massage with Peri was amazing, one of the best massages I have had to date. I chose the CBD massage with deep tissue as an add. I will be back and will ask for Peri next time I go. My husband enjoyed his massage too. It was a really good experience for us and we enjoyed the amenities too. I would suggest that the hot tub located in the Spa Services area should be for Spa Services only, and no cell phones in that area. Someone was in the jacuzzi on their cell phone which disrupts the relaxing atmosphere you go to experience. I want to sit in that area, enjoy my tea or beverage, read a book, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The Worst Hospitality Service I have ever had over 60+ countries I have been in DON'T TRUST THE PICTURE. READ REVIEWS. That was my lesson from this experience. THE PATIO was just to lure you of their tucked away fantasy but one thing is true about this away from civilization nuance that they give you. I never had such un-civilized treatment that I have to keep demanding it became so exhausting experience instead of a nice way to unwind True what they say, you never know until you experience it I just never thought it will be this tragic. I know it has been 3 months but here is why. First of All, I want you all to know that I do not have time to waste if it is not with the hope I can save each of the potential guests of wasted time in a bad experience. If there is no other way, but this is a point of no return case Even the location itself Getting to Santa Cruz isnt easy to with that winding road that has lots of accident records especially on wet days which judging by the forest and Pacifica, it is pretty common. Try Napa, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite or even the closer spa weekend hiking trip in the Peninsula and Marin! Much better wine and food too. I know every stay and every trip is a random luck encounter and experience is building up during your stay... But having 99% ignorant team as your host other than the waiters in the restaurant as a side experience of your stay? No one can help that. Friday, 14th February 2025. I planned for this since 22nd January 2025 making sure I will get the Patio otherwise, I would save this trip for different occasions. Victoria was helpful. But when I was checking in for the Junior Suite with Patio, I was instead being helped by a very junior staff members who could not find my booking. Thats the first of a totally Valentine getaway gone completely wrong. Everyone during this stay was so ignorant and think they are right that I have to keep asking for a decent service. First came later than 2pm early check in due to traffic, I arrived almost 4pm. Queuing at Front Desk isnt a good sign. I have the feeling of Hotel Rate Dropping last minute crowd Did not get the Junior Suite with Patio as promised. Dropping luggage need a drink perhaps snack or early dinner. End of week, 5pm only about 50% of the restaurant was full. Drink lounge by the fire on the left. Jazzy music as promised on the welcome letter No reservation as I thought hotel or resort this caliber would have reserved seats for guests. They refused me but welcome me to stand for drinks or find my seat on the small little bar they had if I want dinner. while a 2 seat table next to the drink lounge by the fire was clearly empty. We ended up seating there after some 15 minutes Please replace the teenager as a maitre'd and give the waiter promotion instead. She does not even know any manager or some senior that can help. (the manager offer of the outdoor as some of the heating lamp apparently not functioning) It was a pretty sunset time though but who cares when now the priority is just seat, drink and snacks. No timed reservation or management. By the time I finished I noticed 3 tables were empty and the rest were a late reservation, one came when we were asking for the bill. they didnt even offer me an outdoor one. Food is fine, drinks only strong but tasteless with very big blocks of ice. (PICTURE) The room happened to have no Hot shower no engineer came, I was shivering while waiting I have to keep calling, no hot water than coffee drip so I have to order one, almost got charged as room service I was calling every 10 or 15 minutes, the reasonable amount of waiting time for some simple stuff. No engineer came No other room available I asked for nearby hotel as solutions I left messages at Doug Lord's General Manager contact Apparently the QR code for tipping tech did not apply to the notification features of suggestions during stay to the GM After about 8x or more calling for solution while waiting. Finally I was given another room available. A double instead of King. I wonder why they didnt offer us that room at the first place at least it has a terrace next to parking lot unlike our first one like the super basic with weird floor. From the new room, I learned the tap was broken so it could not go all the way to HOT. If only the engineer came but they didnt maybe we didnt need to move. At this point it took around 2 hours I think we finally sleep around 1 am Missed the Hiking excursion in early morning, asked for late check out after waking up around 9.30. No is the answer even after the situation I had. Missed the sauna pool and the spa plan and still charged for destination fee. They reduced the charges to $100 but it is completely a different thing with the Destination Fee which is about the facility. In my previous upload when I was shivering, I did say that the only solution was just a refund, so when they offered me to take down the review for just $200 less than what I paid at the Third Party App plus I did not know how to delete my review I was expecting them to offer another stay so I can experience the Junior Suite with the Patio as planned, but it was just a cold we are right, we do not need to improve or want your visit again. Actually my suggestion or complain letter was never addressed until I wrote again. When I finally agreed on their offer found how and deleted the review last month, they denied the refund. When I emailed again due to no response, Doug said the offer was no longer valid accusing of my lack of good faith. Or was it the other way around? I posted this with the consent of the whole team he has CC-ed That is just to prove that no matter what, they will not improve
