The Belfry

Fantastic! Had a lovely birthday weekend at the Belfry, we had lunch at the clubhouse restaurant which was so delicious, I definitely recommend the club sandwich Dinner at Rocca’s which was lovely and the halloumi was delicious. The breakfast was also fantastic. I also had an incredible facial from Samira at the Spa. 10/10 experience she made me so comfortable and relaxed and really advised me for aftercare. Thank you for a wonderful experience

Disappointing service Car park was busy on arrival but managed to find a space. Our room was near the entrance, so extremely noisy. This was OK during the day but the room was really hot at night and we couldn't have the window open due to the noise of people coming, going and standing talking/laughing. There was a fan in the room but it didn't do much. Add to this the TV in the room next door blaring until after Midnight. One of the worst night's sleep in a long time. The pool is nice but seating was busy and there was only 1 locker available. We couldn't get in the jacuzzi's as they were both full of hen parties. The disappointing element was customer service. We waited over 45 minutes in Sam's bar for a snack and asked for an update, thinking we'd been forgotten. The place was extremely busy, the waiting staff were run off their feet. We went out for the day, came back and ordered 2 pots of tea at the bar. We waited approx. 15-20 minutes before I went and checked. The pots were sitting on the bar, with the staff standing around talking. There's an automatic service charge, so these 2 pots of tea cost £12. I disagree with the mandatory service charge. It says on the receipt that it can be taken off but how many people are going to ask to do this?? The evening entertainment was good but we only just managed to get a seat, after waiting for a couple to leave. Bar prices are extortionate - London prices. Over £30 for 2 drinks. Breakfast the next day was like a cattle market. Everyone pushing and shoving to get near the food, the room was rammed full. Hats off to the lovely ladies in the breakfast room, who made up for it. Some good, some bad but if you're charging a premium and aim to be the venue of choice, all areas of the visit need to be top class.

Exceeded Expectations We had a really welcoming and enjoyable time at the Belfry last night. Nadine was very helpful at reception when sorting an upgrade, whilst Hannah provided great service at the Ryder Grill. I definitely recommend the a-la-carte option at the Grill. Despite there also being a decent buffet, the a-la-carte meal really exceeded expectations. I recommend the scallops (which had a great sauce), or the tacos as a starter. Then for the main I really enjoyed the lamb with creamy mash. The sauce was an excellent accompaniment to the meal. Overall, our short trip certainly exceeded expectations. The massage at the Spa was also better than expected! Thanks to all that made the day special - Seb & Sharon

Golf and Ryder Grill Fantastic service in the Ryder Grill, Isabelle was really attentive and made sure our experience was second to none She really is a credit to the Belfry The buffet was good quality and hot which is always a bonus We will be back We played the PGA today Great course, very testing although some of the greens were a little pitted (repair your pitch marks!)

Conference stay Stayed here for a 2 day works conference. This was my first visit to the hotel. The hotel is amazing however car parking can be a problem to find a space. The conference facilities are brilliant and all food served during my stay was 1st class. However drinks are very expensive. All areas were lovely and clean and bedrooms have all you need in them. All staff I had interaction with were polite and helpful. However one stands out. Paul from the front desk he is a life saver. The day I checked out I discovered my car had a flat tyre. Being a lone female I was unsure what to do as I was 3 hours away from my home. I needed help and Paul was the man to help. He quickly took control and sorted my problems out in double quick time. Allowing me to get home safely. I can't thank him enough. Would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and I will definitely return.
