The ONLY place to stay in the South Bay! A wonderful stay for the second summer in a row! When we're in the LA area visiting family, we will no longer consider staying at any other hotel. The Japanese culture makes for an immaculate room (with the best bathroom anywhere), and the surrounding neighborhood is rich with Japanese stores and restaurants. From the first moment after our arrival when the forever polite and helpful Mr. Chin met us at the door to take in our luggage, we again felt at home. A minor thing: the technology infrastructure could use modernization. Strategically placed electrical outlets and USB ports are rare, and the wifi strength varies by location. Our room was in a weak spot, so I had to use a phone hotspot to conduct a meeting without fear of interruptions.

Comfortable Stay The hotel was clean and pleasant. I would definitely recommend it to others. I used the fitness center which was small; however, it had just what I needed. My stay was quick, so I did not interact with staff much, but the check-in process was smooth.

Honeymoon Suite We stayed in room 702, a suite, for three nights. The room had all of the amenities of the regular rooms, plus extra amenities with extra space. The room was nearly the size of two rooms, with a larger couch, a desk, plenty of storage, a microwave oven, a huge TV on a swivel which could be viewed from anywhere in the room, large windows that spanned the entire length of the room, a comfortable king size bed, and other amenities either we did not notice or did not use! The room appears ideal for an extended stay or a honeymoon. Our view was to the south, the building towering above the surrounding town, with a perfect view of Palos Verdes. Despite being the closest room to Western Avenue, we could not hear the street below. The room was absolutely quiet for our entire stay despite the hotel appearing to be very busy. We had three excellent nights of sleep and awoke well rested. The maid service was impeccably clean and the room was thoroughly serviced. The room was well maintained with everything in working order. The TV had a large selection of channels provided by Directv. The front desk staff were fast, efficient and personable. We were made to feel as honored guests. Check in only took a minute as the reservation was in order. Check out consisted of my handing the key to the front desk as the final bill had been delivered to my room and slipped under the door before we arose. I cannot imagine any hotel being better run. Staying here is like coming to a second home. It could not be any more pleasant. Even the parking was easy, with plenty of spaces.

Best Japanese Hospitality The best hotel I've stayed at yet! I've stayed at fancy hotels before like Hilton or Westin but this hotel gives a unique Japanese hospitality that you'd likely find in Japan! Upon arriving you'll notice that the lobby area is very clean and minimalistic. They have a nice sounding spa which I did not have time to try (maybe next time) and a restaurant and bar. They seem to get a lot of Japanese guests too because we ran into someone wearing a yukata. Once we got our room, the first thing I noticed was that the bathroom is a hybrid of a western bathroom and traditional Japanese bathroom! They had a toilet with a bidet and a bathing "room" in which the bathtub was essentially inside the shower area like you would find in Japan. Besides the usual toiletries that you would find, they also include mouthwash, shower cap, a vanity kit that included emery board, sewing needle and thread, cotton balls and swabs, and on top of that bath salts! Needless to say I enjoyed those bath salts. For a 3 star hotel they also included a bathrobe and slippers which I don't even remember seeing at some 4 star hotels. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the staff were all very polite and professional. They have limited parking in front of the hotel but have another parking lot across the street, as well as valet. The bedding was super soft and the pillows were so comfortable definitely not like your typical 3 star hotel where they just flatten so fast. I don't know if I was just super tired from traveling or the bed was just SO comfy that I was able to fall asleep right away.

Heaven On the Seventh Floor (Sorry, Tavares) We experienced Two nights of restful sleep in a very comfortable bed. We stayed on the seventh floor in a room with a shower with a head whose height can be adjusted. The shower also had a 2nd head directly overhead, perfect for a tall person. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and welcoming. They are very responsive to customer requests. The hotel has plenty of free parking. It located near a shopping center with several very good restaurants and a bakery. Inside the hotel is a newly remodeled world class restaurant. We have stayed here numerous times and it continues to be our favorite hotel in the Los Angeles area. In tranquil Torrance, the location is perfect for an extended stay. Whenever we stay here, we feel like we are at home.
