Awesome My experience in this hotel was awesome, the crew was friendly and hopeful. The lady in front desk was professional and hopeful, I was there Friday the 5th at night time. They told how to get around the city and where to go for the historic places. The Hotel is old but the accommodation are excellent, the location is perfect, and most importantly I felt safe with my family .

Wonderful stay! Hotel Veracruz Centro Historical was wonderful. Everything was clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the linens were all great. The staff here was fabulous, helpful and friendly. I read some reviews complaining about noise from the zócalo, but we didn't hear anything. The breakfast was lovely. You can include an American breakfast (when booking) that includes fresh fruit, juice, coffee, scrambled eggs, breads and refried beans. It was more than filling. You can also upgrade your breakfast on the weekend for the buffet. You also have the option to pay for a different breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Great location to see the sights and eat the traditional foods but needs remodeling Pros/Likes: - Great location just diagonal to the beautiful central plaza next to the Cathedral - Lots of places to eat nearby - Landmarks at walking distance or short drive away - Room was basic and sparsely decorated but nice - Bed and pillows were great - There is a Sanborns (store with restaurant) right on the ground floor - Coffee in the lobby from 7-9 AM - Wi-fi worked well - Complimentary breakfast as an Ostar member until 12 noon including juices, fruit, eggs, coffee/tea, bread - Tarde Pastelera (buffet with local delicacies and desserts) at the on-site restaurant Son Jarocho on Fridays was great for $180 (MXN) p/person, however read about the music below - Check-out was super fast - No USB outlets but they have adapters you can borrow - Staff were nice Cons/Dislikes: - Hotel has seen better days; building needs remodeling to bring it to its former glory; for example, there were some cracks on the walls and some items had corrosion - They had a live band during Tarde Pastelera on Friday with the music extremely loud so it was difficult to talk with/hear others on the table and the servers - No gym/exercise room - No mini-bar/fridge - No mirrors other than in the bathroom (no full-body mirrors) Neutral: - They only had one person in the front desk during check-in at 9:30 PM - Bathroom was small in comparison to the room - Only one complimentary in-room coffee packet (for the coffe-maker); they charge for more - Credit card gets charged in full upon check-in instead of at check-out Miscellaneous: - Pool looked nice (did not use) - Lest we forget the pandemic is not over, the server during Tarde Pastelera was asking guests to wear a mask when approaching the buffet (they had a box with masks nearby) Impression: Great location to see the sights and eat the traditional foods but needs remodeling
