I just wanted to cruise on the Mississippi, and this one fit my schedule, but it exceeded my expectations. The boat was comfy and the weather perfect, with a variety of places to sit or wander around for various views..
On the 45 minute cruise to the Chalmette battlefield site, our narrator/ historian Charles gave an interesting rundown of the history of nd significance of this battle. Once there, there wasn’t a whole lot of visual interest but a park ranger gave further info on the history for those who chose not to wander or check out the visitors center.
In the cruise back, Charles gave a heartrending account of the tragedy that followed Hurricane Katrina. His narration made the whole cruise so much better than I had expected.
