  • Classy Canines
A pet's bath time can be a stressful affair. While the bathtub faucet gushes water and steam rises, howls echo off the tiles and the chase ensues, eventually leading to the owner getting just as wet as his or her furry friend. Classy Canines hopes to prevent these interspecies calamities for dog and cat owners alike, as well as the pets themselves. The fur-scrubbing staff has designed a menu of all-breed grooming services that salve the stress and make bath time an important and meaningful part of pet care, along with feeding, exercise, and vet checkups. By ridding their coats of matting and dirt, the team makes dogs and cats soft, shiny, and ready to present themselves at the interspecies treaty-signing ceremony. As additions to a full-service grooming, or as à la carte options, pet parents can have their breeds' teeth cleaned, nails grinded, or coats lathered with a medicated anti-itch oatmeal shampoo.

  • Claws And Paws Grooming
At Claws and Paws Grooming, animal aficionados bathe, shear, and groom pups of all sizes to ensure healthy and fashionable fur. After gently leashing pups to individual grooming stations, canine aestheticians clip away overgrown nails ($10?$15), temporarily diminishing pups? ability to dig up buried time capsules. Sanitary trims ($30+) kick off with a thorough bath, whose gentle suds whisk away allergens and grime. Then pup primpers trim nails and snip away floor-grazing fur around feet, eyes, and undercarriages. Alternatively, a haircut ($30+) trims fur from tail to ears. Staff members then blow-dry manes, giving dogs the newfound confidence to stick heads out of car windows for the first time.

  • Vineyard Kennels
Even before Chris Stout founded Vineyard Kennels, she had already dedicated most of her adult life to helping. She started out her career lobbying Congress on behalf of food bank gleaning programs, earning the Presidential Volunteer Action Award award from Ronald Reagan. Then, about 15 years ago, she decided to help out a little closer to home. When her daughter wanted to start a grooming business, Chris worked toward her American Boarding Kennel Association certification, and opened up Vineyard Kennels. Today, she continues to run the kennel—and even lives onsite—with her dog Bitsy. Her trained staff pools 40 years of experience as they watch after canine guests in the 10,000 square feet facility. The temperature-controlled building features sturdy cinderblock walls that shelter toddler and Kuranda beds. Outside, a fenced-in play area gives tail-waggers a place to frolic in the sun. After an invigorating romp, pups lap up well water that has been softened, disinfected, and purified with reverse osmosis. This water, along with a shampoo and blow-dry, also leaves dogs lustrous during bathtime. For owners who need to get to work early, the self-service corral allows for early drop-off and late pick-up.
