Sometimes less means a whole lot more Lesson learned. We were not that familiar booking a room for a layover in Austin. Read the reviews-calculated prices-booked what we thought was a good price with shuttle service. What a nightmare. We called the hotel after arriving at Austin. No shuttle as was listed on the travel site. The first room we were given had people already in it. The second room the staff assured was clean- ? maybe the bedlinens had been changed-the bottom sheets were very wrinkled and slightly yellow in the middle of the bed but the top sheet had no wrinkles...mmm?? Staff said the sheets had been changed. The bathroom toilet took 2-3 flushed to flush, by a chest there was a dark red spot that looked more like ?? blood than red wine or a red beverage. No black light so could not tell but all the rugs looked like they needed cleaning. The front staff stated they did not know if any restaurants were within walking distance. MOST IMPORTANT LESSON-even at the cheapest Uber price (we had to take) the Uber round trip costs ended up being more than just booking a more expensive hotel room -always call the hotel just before your trip as this hotel had dropped the shuttle service. And very scary--someone else's credit card is printed on my receipt. The hotel charges a cc surcharge. Avoid this hotel! We have add this to our list of travel lessons learned. _ Update: I did notify Priceline but agent said would only give 15% of an express booking. Priceline keep it..it is way less than we paid for your hotel information being inaccurate. At 5:30 am in morning we were running thru lobby to get an Uber and catch our flight-no wake up call as requested-clock in room did not work--cell phones with low batteries due to not charging right. Think twice before using Priceline.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Where do I start? Checked into a room on the 3rd floor, walked in and looked in the bathroom to find mold all over the tub and on the ceiling. Went back downstairs to request a different room. Got a room on the 1st floor room smelled musty, rooms are outdated. I was supposed to stay 2 nights, but I ended up canceling the 2nd night because the rooms were disgusting. There were homeless people sleeping on the stairs. When I tried to check out at 7am the next morning, the lady at the front desk was sound asleep snoring with her Ipad playing. It took me a good 5 minutes to wake her up to get a receipt. Ridiculous! I would NOT stay here. Plenty of other nicer hotels in the area. I have left a message for a manager to call me, but of course I have not heard back!

Gunshots Arrived late at night around midnight and there was a full blown party going on in the parking lot. Very loud music, drinking, dancing, etc. . When we checked in the lady up front acknowledged that she was aware there was a party going on but they were regulars that stayed there often. I requested a room down stairs and she told me that the people outside partying were down stairs and they would be very loud so she put us on the top floor. When we got in the room I opened the window to look out and the same group of people were all on the side of the building and started shooting a gun into the ground. This went on for over 10 minutes approx 30 shots. I called down to the office but no answer. My son was so scared he slept on the couch away from the window. Upon check out some of the same people were up front hanging both inside and out so we left. I have put numerous phone calls to get ahold of management with no luck.

Intense smel of mold in the room From the moment I stepped in the room to the moment I left, it was intense smell of mold in the room. I, even, considered to look for the other place to stay. Looks like they re-do bathrooms. But, they never replaced carpets. It was distraction and impacted everything else. Elevator is slow and loud. The good thing - big parking lot.

A Frustrating Experience! After a long and tiring drive, we checked in, then discovered that that the room was ice-cold and the heat didn't work. The front desk refused to give us another room until the maintenance person came and checked it out. When he finally arrived, he confirmed that it was broken and called the front desk to get us another room. The key to the new room didn't work because the wrong room number was written on the key card envelope. But, finally we got a room after more than a half-hour. We were cold the first night because we didn't realize that the thermostat had to be set to the highest temperature in order to get any heat. The next morning, when we went to take showers, we discovered that there was no shower curtain... we hadn't noticed it before because we hadn't closed the bathroom door prior to that. We had an appointment to keep, so we took showers without a shower curtain and put towels on the floor to absorb all of the water that splashed out. The front desk was of little help, other than to tell us that she would contact the manager who wasn't there. We found a housekeeper in the hall and showed her what happened, and to her credit, she quickly cleaned up the mess, apparently took a shower curtain from an unoccupied room, installed it, and fixed that problem. The breakfast was very skimpy... no hot breakfast, no fresh fruit, no sweet rolls. They blamed it on the pandemic, but the two other Choice hotels in Texas that we stayed in during the same week had full buffet breakfasts. Attention to detail seems to be lacking. There was an ugly carpet stain in the carpet in our room, the screen on the window was dislodged, there was a big dent in the wall, and of course, the missing shower curtain. The beds were comfortable, and the hotel was in a good location, although there is traffic noise from the nearby freeway. It is difficult to find if you are coming from the east and not familiar with the area. Prior to the pandemic, I was a diamond elite Choice Privileges member for about 15 consecutive years, so I have hundreds of other Choice hotels to compare this experience to, and I would rank it near the bottom of the Comfort Suites brand.
