The Smart Tan–certified technicians at Summer Sun Tanning Salon equip patrons for jaunts on the beach with a full menu of summer-readying services. The salon’s lineup of UV beds baste skin with bronzing rays that gradually build up darker skin tones, and airbrush wands apply a sheer pigmented mist to curves to impart the type of golden demeanor required for access to the beach or Meryl Streep's linen closet. Aestheticians can then rehydrate skin with an omega 3 facial, or keep bodies bikini-ready with a variety of waxing treatments. The salon also helps patrons keep a literal finger on the pulse of current fashion trends by offering nail services performed with OPI crackle polish and CND Shellac.

Q&A with Michelle Shelton, Aesthetician

When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?

In my teens. Little did I know that's what I'd be doing for a living. I have a great love for enhancing a women's true beauty, whether with waxing or airbrush makeup.

Out of your entire repertoire, which is your favorite service to perform and why?

Waxing. It's instant gratification for the client and myself. Clients love to see immediate results.

Revive’s space evokes a swanky New York loft, with modern lights that radiate overhead onto plush velvet furniture and charcoal-gray walls of stacked stone. Amid these chic accents, skilled stylist Sabrina Day draws on six years' experience to sculpt face-framing layers and paint strands with Redken color products. The salon offers not only haircare, but also a select list of spa services such as restorative mani-pedis, therapeutic massages, and deep-cleansing facials. Clients may also request a wax to remove unwanted fuzz from eyebrows or dandelions growing from earlobes.

For the past decade, Kelly Beaudry has honed her hairstyling techniques by learning the latest trends and tips at coloring shows and workshops held all along the East Coast. After making the trip from Boston, Kelly settled into Revive Salon and Spa, where she revamps hair with Goldwell, Joico, and Affinage hair dyes. In addition, Kenra haircare products and keratin treatments leave manes shinier and smoother than the freshly polished axes lumberjacks always bring to formal events.
