About The Dicker Reading Method

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?

The Dicker Reading Method can teach any student, even those who have been diagnosed as learning disabled, dyslexic, or with ADD or ADHD, to read better, faster, with greater fluency, and comprehension. The Dicker Reading Method is a breakthrough in reversing a child’s feelings of failure. In one day, the child will be saying “I CAN READ.” Whether a child is reading above, below, or at grade level, he or she can achieve 3-6 years of reading improvement in just 1 year with this program. Students from preschool through 12th grade have produced remarkable results using our revolutionary one -on-one reading tutoring instruction.

What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?

"My son Alex, at the end of the 1st grade Alex knew 17 words and had no self-esteem because he could not read. After participation in the program, he scored in the 99th percentile and tested at a 9th grade reading level in the 2nd grade. Alex now exhibits a strong feeling of self-worth and is currently attending Harvard University."

Cathy Rigby, Mother Of The Year/Olympic Gold Medalist/Tony Award Nominee shared the following: "When my daughter Katie fell behind in reading in the first grade, I tried everything to help Katie--countless tutors, phonics programs; but nothing worked until she enrolled in the Dicker Reading Method. In just one month, Katie, a 7th grader, went from a 3rd grade reading level to an 8th grade reading level."

"My daughter Rachel, a three and a half year old, learned forty words in the first session. After four months in the program, she was reading on a second grade level, qualified for the Gifted and Talented program for kindergarten in New York City, and scored in the 98th percentile. In the first grade, Rachel was reading at a fourth grade reading level and developed a love for reading and school. Now in the second grade, Rachel is reading on a sixth grade level and is currently finishing the Harry Potter book series."

"My daughter Jayme, a 22 year old failed out of college. She believed she was learning disabled and didn’t have the necessary reading skills for success in college. When my daughter Jayme was in the first grade, she was tested by a neurological psychiatrist and found to have a learning disability (ADHD). She then was put on Ritalin to improve her focus in school. However, this resulted in heart palpitations. When the Dicker Reading Method assessed her, she was functioning on a 3rd grade reading level, lacked confidence and self-esteem. Jayme started in the Dicker Reading Method Program on a 4th grade reading level. Jayme mastered 10 years of reading improvement in just 10 weeks, going from reading on a 4th grade level to a college level. Every week she accomplished one year of reading enrichment. This is “A Miracle in the Making!!!”

What do you love most about your job?

Students from preschool through 12th grade have produced remarkable results. My program has received numerous endorsements, including those of CBS News, Family Circle magazine, and thousands of parents and educators. An astonishing 10,000 students have experience one-on-one reading tutoring success due to my revolutionary program.I just love changing kids lives! That's what my life is about.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?

It started when I couldn't read in the first grade. I remember sitting in class. My palms would get sweaty; my heart would start to beat. I was afraid the teacher would call on me. What would my friends say? I was left back in the third grade.I hated to go to school. It was horrible. Even though this early childhood experience hurt a lot it helped me to commit myself to ending illiteracy. I don't want any kid to have to go through what I went through. As result of this frustrating experience, I developed The Dicker Reading Method.
