How do I make changes to my American Airlines reservation?

Head to the ‘my trips/check in’ tab on the AA website to review your trip details. Select ‘change trip’ to make the necessary changes. If this option isn’t available, it might be too close to departure to amend your reservation - get in touch with the reservations team for assistance.

Yes - for some routes, you’ll be able to hold a reservation for up to 24 hours, free of charge. This is only an option if you’re booking seven days or more before the intended departure date. You can also opt for an extended hold, for which you’ll pay a non-refundable fee.
