Entering the dining area, the decor is warm and welcoming. We had the Omakase dinner. It started out slow and then the first five dishes came out pretty quickly. The food is delicious and the presentation really enhanced the experience. The service is really good and our server was on top of it. We will definitely dine at Chopfuku again and I will recommend to family and friends. AK

, so if you're unvaccinated, I would maybe try a less busy day (they don't seat you too close, but still something to consider if you're concerned). Definitely will go back, such a good experience!

Everything served was delicious. The courses were excellent and creatively presented. The restaurant was very bright, which is fine for an afternoon or a work environment but for an evening dinner for two it needed to be much dimmer. Second, timing was poor. With the exception of first and last plate, others came out 3 at a time or then LONG gaps in service. Timing and bright lights drop a star.

There was some issue to use Groupon because they told me that they not accept it on a weekend, but overall exceptional experience!

About Chopfuku Sushi Bar and Asian Cuisine

At Chopfuku, colorful sushi and sashimi are plated with swirls of sauce, pinches of roe, and ever-so-carefully-placed greenery and flower petals. In essence, they're edible works of art designed by master chef Chris Dang. But he doesn't leave the creativity to the raw seafood—Dang and his cohorts arrange Asian-style crispy wings, fried rice, and Cajun salmon as if they're appetizers at a hip gallery opening.

In reality, though, it's an unassuming, affordable restaurant in a sedate suburb of Salt Lake City. The menu boasts Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisine, including pad thai and green curry. Chef Dang lets his imagination run wild—and his 40 years of experience soar—during Omakase meals, for which he makes multiple courses sophisticated courses like "dancing" octopus, smoked duck, and pho marrow.
