Highlights

What you'll do

Beginning with a guided tour of our studio, you will then build your own cardboard creation, concluding with a chance to meet our fabricators for an in-depth look into how complex custom adaptations are built.

During the tour you will see, touch, and try unique, fun solutions for improving accessibility.

Our expert host will then lead a hands-on workshop, teaching you how to build a simple cardboard item such as a smartphone Easel or a cat-scratch box. You will learn basic cardboard carpentry techniques such as measuring, scoring, bending, gluing, and edging.

Finally, one of our fabricators will share how they use the techniques you just learned to design and build complex, custom cardboard adaptations for children with disabilities.

You will leave our studio with your own personal cardboard item that is small and light enough to fit into your carry-on. You are also welcome to donate your cat scratch box, and we will make sure it gets to a local animal shelter.

Most importantly, you will leave with a deeper understanding of how affordable materials, simple tools, and your own creativity can generate solutions that make a difference in your own life or someone else's.
