Crescent Fitness's instructors, Ryan McClure and Anica Verona, have cast exercise machines out of their gym, focusing instead on strengthening bodies through resistance exercises and training. Inside the gym, there's not a treadmill or elliptical in sight, but there are plenty of men and women performing muay thai kickboxing techniques in classes led by Anica. Ryan uses High Intensity Training—H.I.T.—sessions to get dramatic results, pushing clients with kettlebells, medicine balls, and agility exercises. The duo also holds one-on-one personal-training sessions, giving members individual attention that helps them achieve targeted results and gives them answers they can't get in a one-sided argument with a workout DVD.
