About Cryotherapy of the Pines
Developed in Japan in 1978, the whole body cryotherapy uses extreme cold to reduce inflammation and swelling, relieve pain, and speed up healing. During each session, clients spend 2 to 3 minutes maximum inside a cryo chamber at -167 degrees Fahrenheit. Although the skin temperature decreases to approximately 30 degrees Fahrenheit, the core body temperature remains intact. Extremely low temperatures then prompt the body to increase blood circulation, elevate levels of oxygen in the blood cells, and produce endorphins. After that, the enriched blood continues to flush through the body for another three-to-five hours, providing relaxation and pain-relief.
