Fernandina Beach Golf Club
Rounds start with a bang on the West Course at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. Upon completing No. 1, a 407-yard par 4 and the third-hardest hole on the course, players stare down a true test in the second hole. The monstrous par 5 stretches to 607 yards from the back tees, making par an elusive goal for all but the longest hitters or most liberal users of mulligans.
Thankfully, not every hole at the 27-hole golf complex is quite as difficult as these two. In fact, no two of the three nine-hole sides add up to more than 7,000 yards, so while there are plenty of long individual holes—the South Course also boasts a 591-yarder—they're offset by a number of more forgiving stretches. Other attributes are constants throughout the complex, such as the Champion Bermuda greens awaiting golfers at the end of every fairway, ocean breezes blowing in from the east, and all-day breakfast at the clubhouse.
