Absolutely worth it! I’m so grateful to have discovered Olaf thru Groupon. It’s a very unique type of alternative healing that I’ve never experienced anything like it before. No pain, no gain. Ultimately, trust the process. It works & has helped heal my plantar fasciitis. I highly recommend him for any types of aches and pains you may be experiencing in the body. He will heal you.

Bearing in mind that Rolfing is not for the faint of heart nor low of threshold, the work can be quite painful (and should be) but the results are amazing. I highly recommend you take an advil before coming in. It'll help with some of the inflammatory pain you might otherwise encounter. Olaf was great! He charged right into work and labored tirelessly on my super tight muscles for quite a long time, continually checking his work. He obviously understands well the mechanics of the body. I truly do feel better and straighter after one session. I will be doing the recommended 10-series. It's a spendy service no matter who you go to, but so well worth figuring out in order to live better. The office is lovely, clean and in a terrific part of town. I will be sharing this find with my friends and family.

Was really on the fence about Rolfing but after trying acupuncture and a very good chiropractor for years and getting new pains I went for it. After my first visit, I booked the series!

Olaf is the "real deal". Intuitive and deftly skilled he really helped me. If I lived in San Francisco I would continue my treatments with him ona regular basis. Highly recommend him.

Olaf is precise and has a natural “fix it” personality. He is direct and instinctively gravitates towards problem areas that need a solution… like my hand and wrist. During my visit, he had me stand and provide feedback on how my body felt and range of motion twice. I liked this a lot. It made some of the more intense moments worth it! Left my session feeling amazing!

Fascia: A Twisted Web We Didn’t Weave Ourselves

Massage can be more than just relaxing; it can actually correct physical issues such as chronic pain. Learn about one such issue with Groupon’s look at the fascia.

Fascia, a dense connective tissue, is essentially a net that holds in muscles and blood vessels. Similar in structure to ligaments and tendons, fascia allows muscles to slide over each other during movement, keeps organs in their place, and gives nerves a protective wrapping for when they intersect with muscles. Fascia is classified into three categories: superficial fascia is a loose layer of tissue just below the skin’s surface; deep-muscle fascia is more intricate and binds muscles together; and visceral fascia envelops organs so that they never feel lonely or afraid.

Osteopathic doctors are trained in fascia form and function, and so they gently move the body to restore full movement to fascia. Fascia-manipulation techniques typically focus on deep muscular fascia, and myofascial therapy is thought to relieve soft tissue of pain. Chronic pain can result from poor posture or misalignment, which leads to tightness, and myofascial release seeks to make fascia more pliable.
