The Plot: A psychologist is riding a San Francisco commuter train at 4 a.m. So is an unemployed ad man. Although they don’t know each other, they already have one thing in common: each is doing a New York Times crossword puzzle. Before those meshes of black and white squares are filled, though, the two find they have a lot more in common than that.
The Cast: Andrea McArdle, the Tony-nominated star of the original Broadway production of Annie, plays the psychologist across from Kip Gilman, who was recently acclaimed for his role in LA’s The Odd Couple. Emmy nominee Evelyn Rudie directs.
