A Practical Guide to Gameday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
- Show up early for the Gator Walk, in which fans meet roughly 2 1/2 hours before the game at the north end of the Stadium to cheer on the team, or get there 3 hours early for games, contests, and giveaways at the Bubba Burger Fan Fest at Gate 2 of the Stephen C. O’Connell Center
- Catch The University of Florida Fightin’ Gator Band, aka The Pride of the Sunshine, as they take to the field with the “Gator Chomp” and show how they won the Sudler Trophy (the Heisman Trophy for marching bands)
- Dazzle your friends with stadium facts and figures. Here’s a good start: Completed in 1930 with only 21,769 seats, Renovated every year since with a current official capacity of 88,548 (but up to 90,000 during home games). Bermuda grass surface that’s below ground level, and amps up the crowd noise (giving the Gators a home field advantage).
- Gameday can be busy and parking near campus is next to impossible, so we recommend taking the handy RTS Shuttle, which gives quick rides from The Oaks Mall, Hilton University of Florida Conference Center, The Village Center in Haile Plantation, and Tioga Town Center
