Peninsula Ballet Presents Hip Hop Cinderella and Carmen
- Hip Hop Cinderella (March 27 and 28): In this modern retelling of Cinderella, dancers dressed in period costumes captivate the audience with dynamic choreography set to music that mixes classical compositions with hip-hop beats.
- Carmen: A Tragic Love Story (March 28): Gregory Amato’s Carmen places title character at the center of a passionate love triangle between Don José, a soldier in the Spanish army and female bullfighter Maribel. When Carmen, a woman of strong will and allure, encounters the stoic Don José, both are awakened to the possibility of enduring love. However, fate intervenes as Carmen’s eye catches a charismatic bullfighter, Maribel, and each is seduced by her charms. All three characters must choose between the prospect of love or security and comfort where only tragedy can follow.
