What You’ll Do
All it takes to enjoy a great steak is a steak knife and an appetite. Cooking one, though—that takes technique. During this two-hour, hands-on class, the culinary team behind Taste Buds Kitchen help unlock the secrets of the perfect sear.
Mix and Mingle
Sip wine or beer from home (glasses and bottle openers will be provided) while meeting the fellow students in your group.
Prepare the Perfect Steak
Classes begin with a discussion of various cuts of steak and which are best to buy, before you use a provided cutting board, knife, and ingredients to make your own steak and red wine reduction.
Share a Meal
After preparing your steak, enjoy the meaty fruits of your labor with your friends and bring home any leftovers.
Where You’ll Meet
When she was a child, Taste Buds Kitchen founder and “Chief Bud” Jessi Walter Brelsford learned that food and fun were synonymous in her family’s weekly “gourmet nights.” Today, in Taste Buds’ 750-square-foot training kitchen, more than 20 culinary pros carry on this tradition by bringing gourmet fun to kids and adults alike. While teaching proper cooking techniques, they lead pasta lessons, sushi classes, and other programs that have garnered praise from the likes of New York Magazine and the Wall Street Journal.
