Forget Me Knot Burlesque Show
“I’m proud to know that I can kick up my heels at the good old age of 57 . . . that’s what I call buns of steel,” Maple Divine declares—and she lives up to that declaration. Joining her as she pops open a can of allure for Valentine’s are the rest of the Fringe Follies ladies, including the sword-swallowing starlet Rhaya and the chair-dancing vixens Stella Stellar, Yummy Hearts, Blaze Sparkle, Ary Valore, Mighty Aphrodite, and Ivory Brule. Not only do these ladies sing through cabaret standards and sprinkle their dance steps with sequins, they flaunt their funny side by spoofing Chicago’s “Cell Block Tango” behind bars. At the end of the evening, as the last boa flutters to the floor and the cartoon wolves roll their tongues back into their mouths, a raffle gives attendees a chance to take home a Valentine’s prize. <p>

About JMK Entertainment
Director and founder Jennifer Kennedy has been teaching dance for more than three decades and channels her sensual moves from experience performing in cabarets aboard Virgin Islands cruise ships. At JMK Entertainment, she and her instructors patrol a studio of 10 poles, ensuring that each student receives personalized tips during basic to advanced pole-fitness classes. The pole-based moves help students to build core strength and tone curves while mimicking the arched back of a sexy long-haired wildcat, not to be confused with the long-eared hedgehog, which is really more cute than sexy. Other class styles run the rhythm-powered gamut from cardio chair fitness and Zumba to Bollywood and belly-dancing routines. The JMK team isn't shy about performing what they preach, taking the stage at various local events to showcase their burlesque swaggers and perilous pole-climbs.
