First time visiting the Glore psychiatric museum. Being someone interested in the history of medical and psychiatric industries it was an awesome and informative place to visit. I would definitely recommend stopping by, it also had really good exhibits on WW1 and some other things. I plan on returning soon.

An extremely interesting museum full of information and visuals. Not for the faint of heart, but provides an important key to how we have treated the "insane" in the past.

This is a great museum, filled with so much sad history. It's incredibly informative while maintaining respect for those throughout history who suffered at the hands of others. Well worth the time and very reasonably priced.

About Glore Psychiatric Museum

There's nothing like learning about medicine of the past to make us grateful for today's doctors. The Glore Psychiatric Museum illustrates how far health care has come by taking guests on a fascinating—and sometimes gruesome—journey into State Lunatic Asylum No. 2, which opened in 1874. Through interactive exhibits and artifacts, the museum, which has been featured on PBS and the Discovery Channel, shows what daily life at the hospital was like over the course of its history. In addition to hospital paraphernalia such as confinement boxes and uniforms, the Glore showcases artwork created by those suffering from mental-health disorders, and includes pottery, paintings, drawings, and needlework.
