Teresa's Grille 19
As the low-key centerpiece of a multi-million dollar renovation of Teresa's North Reading location—a facelift that landed the complex a two-page spread in New England Bride in 2015—Teresa's Grille 19 is the casual corner on otherwise opulent grounds. Here, diners enter a handsome eatery wrapped in an inviting atmosphere surrounded by flat-screen TV's and an impressively large bar, a decor that gives a fitting preview to a menu stacked with classic pub eats. However, the fact that chefs deal in upscale comfort food doesn't mean they settle for ho-hum preparations; their meatball sub comes stuffed with hand-rolled meatballs, and the fish and chips include beer-battered filets of haddock flash-fried to lock in juicy tenderness. More elegant entrees include a pan-seared pork chop, or a flat-iron steak drizzled with port demi-glace and encrusted with bleu cheese. There are even Neapolitan-style pizzas, which satisfy cravings of Italian food lovers and people on diets where they can only eat triangle-shaped foods.
