Sharing a meal out strengthens family bonds in a civilized way, unlike invading the neighborhood block party and laying siege to the bounce castle. Subjugate your hunger with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of pub fare and drinks at Hop Heads.
At Hop Heads, guests feast from a menu of classic pub grub such as sandwiches, half-pound burgers from Roseda Black Angus Farms, and more than 100 different beers. Once groups acclimate to the surroundings by strewing their favorite childhood toys across the table, servers haul in tasty dishes such as the grilled-chicken-breast sandwich's bundle of ham, swiss cheese, and barbecue sauce in a kaiser roll ($7.95). The cheesesteak sandwich buddies up chicken or grilled rib eye with caramelized onions and provolone cheese ($6.95), and the Roseda Farms burger with cheese ($7.95), like all of Hop Head's sandwiches, comes accessorized with hand-cut fries. Bartenders fill glasses with craft beer ($4) from brewers such as Dogfish Head, Lagunitas Brewing Company, and Brooklyn Brewery, each brew carbonated manually one bubble at a time. Weekends frequently play host to live music and events, and guests can also scratch their entertainment itch with game machines, a pool table, karaoke, and flat-screen TVs.
Hop Heads Ale House
Though 200 domestic bottles, craft beers, and imports reside on the drink menu at Hop Heads Ale House, the bar’s draft selections are some of its most popular brews. With a rotating selection of kegs on 11 taps, servers encourage guests sample bright and foamy brews culled mostly from small-batch breweries. To accentuate the flavors of each pint, the kitchen crew at Hop Heads crafts pub specialties such as rib-eye-cheesesteak sandwiches and chicken wings smothered in one of eight sauces. Wraps come stuffed with the likes of seared ahi tuna or veggies, and fresh soups are tapped fresh from local soup trees. The bar also runs a daily happy hour from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day, in addition to nightly specials and live music every Friday and Saturday night.
