Off the Vine Bistro
Plagued by hidden food allergies for years, the family behind Off the Vine Bistro decided to scale things back to the basics—that is, they started cooking from scratch using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. That decision sparked the idea for Off the Vine Bistro, where they grind homegrown spices by hand, blend their own teas, and fuse elements of Indian and Belgian cooking with ingredients gathered around the Houston area.
At lunch, the bistro plates up fresh salads, including one studded with sprouted lentils and finished with a zesty lemon dressing. Later in the day, the dinner menu starts off with creative appetizers, including spiced chicken skewers served with a tamarind-ginger purée. Those lead into the bistro's heartier dishes, such as honey-glazed duck, curried lamb, and grass-fed burgers crowned with sautéed mushrooms and jalapeños.
