PeruFest celebrates Peruvian cuisine and culture in style while sounding the opening bell for Hispanic Heritage Month. In addition to enjoying chef demonstrations and loads of food and drink tastings, guests can take in live music and Peruvian Paso horse demonstrations. For added excitement, an official judge from the Guinness Book of World Records will be present to judge an attempt at the world’s largest quinoa dish. The festival runs noon–8 p.m. on October 17 and 18.
PeruFest USA, LLC
Born out of 500 years of international fusion, Peruvian food is one of the world's most delectably diverse. The fifth annual PeruFest USA brings Peruvian chefs and culinary personalities to Miami for a two-day celebration of their unique national cuisine. Contests for the best Ceviche, Causa, Quinua Dish, and Peruvian Fusion. Live cooking shows Lomo Saltado, Chancho Al Palo, Pachamanca, Rocoto Relleno, Pisco Sour, Chicha, and seafood cocktail pit chef against chef in a fight for cooking glory. In between bites of Peruvian dishes, guests can take in the graceful motions of international dancers or a horse show featuring Peruvian paso horses. Admission to the family-friendly environment also includes live music, and children are encouraged to enjoy the kid's zone.
