Pints on Penn
Selected by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as one of the city's best looking bars, Pints on Penn is a useful landmark for time travelers. They can go back as far as 1880, head to its address, and still find a bar on the premises, serving beer by the frosty pint. The watering hole's history shows today, too, in vintage touches like stained glass panels. Overall, though, the space is distinctly of the present. Flatscreen TVs adorn the walls, and the repasts feel current, too. Guests can pair fish tacos, or a meatball burger stuffed with mozzarella, with a rotating selection of beers on tap—think Guinness, Pumking, and Strongbow Cider, rather than the olden times' cowboy hats full of whiskey.
