The entire family had a blast at the ScotsFestival. The adults and kids all had fun and enjoyed the day shopping at the booths, sipping some beer, listening to bagpipes, watching some highlands games. We also loved exploring the ship and tasting all the yummy food there was to offer.
The event felt unorganized, some of the staff was rude (specifically security) and didn't seem to have any idea what was going on. They stamped our hands, but didn't know what for and said there was no re-entry. So I guess if you needed to go to your car for something you were out of luck. For this being the "Highland Games" I was disappointed there was just one small patch of grass and 1 set of bleachers to watch (unless you were VIP I guess).
Music was good as was the food and shop vendors.
I wondered if a new company took over this event considering it's not new, but it definitely felt like the first time this was held. We were some of the first in line, but didn't get in until 9:15 and several of the food vendors were unprepared (one of the ladies in the first booth, who I can only assume was the owner was super-rude to both customers and her staff). Between this and the rude security, it pretty much set the mood for us for the whole event, it just felt like some people didn't want to be there. They also were having trouble scanning the tickets.
I wouldn't come back.
