Red, White, & Rawhide
Red White & Rawhide extends Independence Day into a two-day extravaganza, closing out both nights of revelry with epic fireworks. Before the glittering light displays fill the sky, there’s plenty of fun to be had in the sun. Visitors taste craft beers and wines and swig flavored margaritas, washing down meals from local food trucks. Musicians play live for the crowds, and local artists showcase their handiwork.
Newcomers to Rawhide are advised to keep their eyes peeled. Gunfights, explosions, and bank robberies crop up regularly, and though sheriffs try their best to catch the criminals, somehow they always seem to break out of jail and return for more. Every single day.
After Rawhide's live-action stunt shows end, things get a little more relaxing. Visitors can also pan for gold or ride a burro, among many other family-friendly activities.
The town's old-timey buildings aren't just for show—there's something new behind every one of its doors. Live music tends to fill the air both here and at the 25-foot bar of Belle’s Saloon. Beyond these and other dining options, Rawhide also houses shops selling everything from homemade fudge to rawhide clothing. There's even a fifth-generation blacksmith and photographers who dress their subjects in the clothing and cell-phone holsters of the 1880s.
