Fun trip a couple weeks ago. No whales sighted but we travelled 11 miles offshore and saw at least 6 large pods of dolphins. The groupon price was great for the two of us on a 3 hour trip. Boat was not overloaded with people was really enjoyable. Take your dramamine people were definitely sick and not enjoying the ride.

This was a fantastic trip. We saw lots of dolphins and a humpback whale and her calf. The crew were helpful and knowledgeable.

Really great experience! Make sure you bring warm layers (even on a hot day) and a waterproof jacket -- it gets very windy and can get pretty wet towards the front of the boat. We didn't see anything other than sea lions, so they gave us a pass for a free re-ride. Excited to go again!

One of the greatest experiences we have had in San Diego! Very worth the price even without the groupon. The folks that run the show on the boat were very informative and professional and we will definitely do this again. We saw lots of dolphins and sea lions, no whales this time but hopefully on our next visit!

About San Diego Whale Watch

San Diego Whale Watch sets sail along the scenic Pacific coastline in search of the area's most beautiful and splash-happy underwater residents. An experienced marine naturalist lends their knowledge and keen eyes to each three-hour tour, pointing out whales and dolphins as they surface alongside the hull of veteran Coast Guard-certified vessel the Privateer. The spacious and clean New England-style boat seats 149 passengers and floats low in the water to allow its passengers up-close views of the amazing marine wildlife from indoor and outdoor decks and seating areas. Daytime tours embark as early as 9:30am to catch the whales as they commute to work.
