A Chat with Seattle Hand Drummers
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? SHD has been going and growing strong since 2010. With over 500 local members and even more worldwide, we have grown to be Seattle's largest drum and music community.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring? Na'tan will bring with him a small variety of drums from different cultures or you may choose one to focus on. Percussion instruments, clapping, and voice will also be used as instruments.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business? I've been playing music ever since I was a young child. After touring and playing various instruments in bands and other groups, I fell in love with rhythm. Years ago I attended my first World Rhythm Festival in Seattle and it changed my whole perception on music.
What do you love most about your job? What I love most is teaching, but even more so, is sharing. Sharing a joy that I love so much with another that finds as much joy in it as I do. Teaching children is the best. Watching a child's face light up when they learn their first rhythm creates a smile you can't take away.
