Slidell Rocks Climbing Gym
Whether they're training for a trip up El Cap or just looking for a fun challenge, climbers of all levels will find everything they need at Slidell Rocks Climbing Gym. For more than a decade, the gym has provided all manner of climbing opportunities in the free-climbing zones and roped areas.
In the cave, guests can grip and hook their way across mild terrain or challenge themselves by scaling fully inverted boulders. Otherwise, those looking to achieve new heights can tie into any of the ever-rotating top-rope routes. More proficient mountaineers, meanwhile, can up the challenge with lead-specific sport climbing. No matter their skill level, though, climbers can see quicker gains by visiting the specialized training zone. There, they'll find hang boards, sloped walls, and grip trainers to work their backs, legs, forearms, and fingers so they can better crush tricky moves.
To keep things lively, Slidell Rocks invites climbers to join in on regular competitions. There they'll be able to show off their best gastons, mantles, and high-flying dynos in front of cheering fans. The gym also rents out a portable rock wall, dubbed The Mobile Mountain. The 25-foot structure is designed to bring rock climbing to you for birthday parties, corporate events, fairs, festivals or wherever rock climbing is needed.
