About Sloss Furnaces
Before it was a National Historic Landmark, the towering smokestacks and labyrinth of pipes at Sloss Furnaces processed the iron that made Birmingham an industrial giant of the South. Today, the sprawling landscape of forges, ducts, and late-19th century factory buildings make for an otherworldly backdrop for metalwork art classes, as well as live music events, festivals, and an annual haunted house.
