What You'll Get
Wine and fine food is a matched pair, like Cagney and Lacey or Wayne Gretzky and the only thing people remember about hockey. Slapstick your face with flavor using today's Groupon: for $25, you get admission for two to the fifth annual San Rafael Food & Wine Festival on Saturday, August 13, from noon to 6 p.m. (a $50 value). The event takes place on the Falkirk Cultural Center grounds. Bring this Groupon to the ticket booth on Mission Avenue and E Street on the day of the festival to receive two wristbands and wine glasses.
The San Rafael Food & Wine Festival celebrates local crafters with wine, beer, and food tastings set to the tunes of live musical acts. Although this event is free to the public, a wristband and wine glass grants participants access to hors d'oeuvres and wine tastings all day, saving gastronomes the trouble of fumbling with billfolds and retinal scanners. Delicately nibble on offerings from local restaurateurs such as Il Davide and Nick's Cove, and sip tipples from local wineries such as Terra Sávia and Deerfield Ranch Winery. Myriad merchants—including artists, jewelers, and other small businesses —punctuate the noshing with opportunities for bountiful browsing, while the gastronomic masterminds behind such eateries as Bistro Ginolina and P.F. Chang's curate cooking demonstrations and occasionally adjust their chef hats.

About Union Street Has a Crush on You Valentine Wine Walk
Backdropped by Union Street's romantic sights, from Gough to Steiner, and Fillmore Street's illustrious shops, from Union to Lombard, the third annual Union Street Has a Crush on You Valentine Wine Walk fills glasses with vine-ripened flavors from around the state and across the world. Although this event is free to the public, pass holders enjoy free access to wine tastings, saving them the trouble of fumbling with billfolds and retina scanners. Participating wineries include Cresten’s Eden Canyon Vineyards, Rosa d’Oro Vineyards, and Terra Sávia, a champion of organic wine. Myriad merchants complement the wine sipping with opportunities for singles or couples to browse such bountiful commodities as organic food and lingerie. Although parking is available downtown, attendants are encouraged to consider public-transportation options so they can leave their cars, trucks, and saddled walruses at home.
