Tech businesses have come to dominate the Bay Area in recent years, but
San Francisco museums tell a much richer story than all the startups put together.
Some of them, such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, have embraced the digital age as they continue to expand the boundaries of what we consider art. In the collections of the De Young and the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco shows off its multicultural heritage (as well as some of its
best sushi), while the California Academy of Sciences offers a glimpse into what the city’s future might look like. Regardless of their interests, one thing’s for sure: students at the esteemed San Francisco Art Institute and other local universities have a lot to draw on in the city they call home.
