About Sugarplum Visions
When Jamie Fine's job as a flight attendant took her around the world, the travel inspired her to add a little sweetness to it. She grabbed a whisk with one goal in mind: to help people ring in milestones with delicious cake. Today at Sugarplum Visions, Jamie regularly crafts custom desserts for weddings, Sweet 16s, and all other kinds of celebrations.
But while Sugarplum's pearl-dotted buttercream tiers and novelty-shaped fondant masterpieces attract their fair share of flashbulbs, the house specialty is a treat of Jamie's own design: the Put A Fork In It! dessert. When word of Sugarplum's deliciousness got out, fans started asking about shipping full cakes. Jamie knew her elaborate cakes wouldn't survive a bumpy trip on the Pony Express, so she began filling mason jars with batter and frosting, then baking them into stylish, single-portion treats. The bakery debuted the new creations at the Marietta Square Farmers Market in 2010, and they've been a hit ever since.
Like the full-size cakes, the Put a Fork In It! desserts can be customized (though many opt for a ready-made, professionally curated flavor combination). Cake flavors include lemon lavender, red velvet, and white-chocolate almond, while buttercream frostings include belgian chocolate and coffee. The most popular jars, according to Jamie, are the ones that layer classic vanilla and chocolate cakes with vanilla and chocolate frostings.
