Las Vegas is a desert city, so it's understandable that it's better known for its slot machines than its fresh vegetables. Yet tucked away downtown, shoppers can find The Market, a grocery store that emphasizes fresh, organic flavors with their produce and their sandwiches alike.
The deli team makes the sandwiches fresh daily, and gives them remarkably apt names. "The Spicy Pig," for instance, is a kaiser roll stuffed with ham, bacon, ghost chili cheese, and chipotle BBQ sauce. The rotating lunch specials at the store's hot bar, meanwhile, stay fresh-out-of-the-oven hot. Really, the wine might be the only delicacy on the premises that isn't fresh—and that's only because, like any decent forgery of the Declaration of Independence, it's been deliberately aged.
