Choose Between Two Options
- $20 for entry for one to the Greater Pittsburgh Fitness Challenge ($40 value)
- $10 for entry for one to the Greater Pittsburgh Fitness Challenge for kids ($20 value)
On Saturday, November 22, the Greater Pittsburgh Fitness Challenge kicks off at Legends of Pittsburgh Fitness and Performance Center. Participants have 30–60 seconds to complete as many reps as they can at each of the nine fitness stations. The stations feature un-weighted exercises commonly done in such programs as P90X, Insanity, boot camps, or CrossFit.
The winner earns the title of Mr./Mrs./Miss Hardbody 2014. There is a separate fitness competition for kids. Competitors are broken up by age group and skill level and are overseen by judges at each station. Those in the beginners’ group will have 30 seconds to complete as many reps as they can at each station; intermediate groups will have 45 seconds; and elites groups will have 60 seconds.
The family-friendly event will have hot breakfast, lunch, fresh fruit, and water available, in addition to NuGo protein bars and a nutrition area with vendor tables. Face painting and other activities will also be available.
The Pittsburgh Games
The Pittsburgh Games takes the limitations of a quirky, one-off race and blows them to smithereens. Rather than just competing in a run or mustache-grooming contest, folks can compete across a wide range of events, including competitions across nine different stations, indoor triathlons, biathlons, obstacle course runs, and other fitness challenges.
