With a menu that encompasses everything from escargot to PB&J, Wexler's Tavern & Eatery seems to hold variety in high regard. How else to explain the chicken gyros, bacon-wrapped chili dogs, and Asian-inspired stir-fry dishes that constitute the house specialties?

Despite all this variety, Wexler's has a knack for getting the simple things right. Take the gourmet burgers, for example. They all start with the house patty, but they may also include anything from pulled pork to pepperonis and marinara sauce. As if that weren't enough, on Friday nights Chef Mike treats guests to a fish fry complete with cod, shrimp, walleye, perch, and a sturdy net to scoop everything up.
